Stainless steel flanges (flange) are also called stainless steel flanges or flanges. It is a part in which the pipe and the pipe are connected to each other. Connected to the pipe end. The stainless steel flange has perforations and can be bolted so that the two stainless steel flanges are tightly connected. The stainless steel flange is sealed with a gasket. Stainless steel flanges are disc-shaped parts that are most common in plumbing and flanges are used in pairs. In plumbing, flanges are primarily used for pipe connections. In the pipelines that need to be connected, a variety of flanges are installed, and the low-pressure pipelines can use wire-bonded flanges, and the welding flanges are used at pressures above 4 kg.
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel flanges depends on chromium, but because chromium is one of the components of steel, the protection methods are different. When the amount of chromium added is more than 11.7%, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of the steel is remarkably increased, but when the chromium content is higher, although the corrosion resistance is still improved, it is not obvious. The reason is that when chromium is used to alloy steel, the type of surface oxide is changed to a surface oxide similar to that formed on pure chromium metal. This tightly adhering chromium-rich oxide protects the surface from further oxidation. This oxide layer is extremely thin, through which you can see the natural luster of the steel surface, giving the stainless steel a unique surface. Moreover, if the surface layer is damaged, the exposed steel surface reacts with the atmosphere to repair itself, reforming the oxide “passivation film” and continuing to protect. Therefore, all stainless steel elements have a common characteristic, that is, the chromium content is above 10.5%.
The stainless steel flange connection is easy to use and can withstand large pressures. Stainless steel flange connections are used extensively in industrial piping. In the home, the pipe diameter is small and low pressure, and stainless steel flange connections are not visible. If you are in a boiler room or production site, stainless steel flanged pipes and equipment are everywhere.
